What can I have engraved?

You can request to have a name, short personal message and/or date(s) engraved on the Heart up to 50 characters in total. Please note the spaces will count as a character in this limit.

Please see below some examples of what you can have engraved, and the format in which they can be engraved:

  • Firstname Lastname e.g. John Doe
  • Firstname alone e.g. John
  • A date or date range in the format of dd.mm.yyyy or dd.mm.yyyy - dd.mm.yyyy e.g. 01.01.2020 or 01.01.1990 - 01.01.2020
  • Nickname e.g. Johnny
  • Relations or short phrases in brackets alongside a name e.g. John Doe (My Hero)
  • Relationship within the name e.g. Grandad John
  • Hyphens, apostrophes, commas and brackets. We can also engrave accents over letters. 


Please see below some example of what you can't have engraved.

  • Two names in one e.g. John and Jane Doe
  • Family name alone e.g. Doe / The Doe Family / The Does
  • Business / Organisation / Group names e.g. The British Heart Foundation
  • Anything inappropriate or offensive
  • Firstname Surname (Love from name) e.g. John Doe (Love from Jane)
  • Kisses i.e. xxx
  • Other characters/symbols not mentioned in the list above e.g. ! @ 
  • Brackets at the start of the engraving e.g. (My Hero) John Doe
