Packs

[What is being sent to supporters, e.g. warm direct mail pack. Include quantity mailing]

Three emails will be sent on the dates above to secondary schools/educational establishments raising awareness of February as Heart Month and asking them to be part of BHF’s effort to train students in lifesaving CPR.

Emails will be sent to eligible schools who have previously registered for Classroom RevivR (since it launched in Sept 2023). Classroom RevivR is only eligible for secondary schools teaching pupils aged 11-16 years old.

Some schools may have already delivered CPR training using Classroom RevivR; whilst a larger proportion will not. There will therefore be 2 different packs: Active and Inactive schools.

Emails remind teachers of the learning outcomes for their students:

  • To identify what to do in a medical emergency

  • To learn CPR

  • To learn how to use a defibrillator

The email also reminds teachers of the resources they will be able to access through the Teacher portal and that teaching CPR is a statutory requirement of the health and wellbeing curriculum (PSHE) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We have also included the inspiring story of Jolie (Email 2), a primary school deputy headteacher, who had a cardiac arrest whilst delivering an assembly in school and who was saved by a quick-thinking colleague performing CPR on her.

A prize draw incentive to win 30 tablets for their school and a £100 Amazon voucher for themselves is also included to drive conversions to teach CPR using Classroom RevivR throughout Feb/Spring term.

Standard FAQs: (General)

  1. How has my fundraising been spent?

Donations are spent where the need is greatest. Anything that you do give is vital to supporting the work of BHF.

  1. How will my fundraising help fund research?

For 60 years the BHF has funded ground-breaking research into heart and circulatory diseases that have helped and improved lives. We are facing the biggest challenge in our 60-year history and the impact of the pandemic has significantly reduced our funding for future research.  By supporting BHF-funded research, you’re supporting lab scientists, engineers, artificial intelligence software developers and many other research specialists. You’re supporting the pioneers of tomorrow’s procedures. And with your help, their solutions can become reality - outsmarting heart disease and helping to save and improve many more lives.

  1. How can I find out more about your research?

If you want to find out more about how we have helped improve and save the lives of many people with heart and circulatory diseases, you can take a look at the research section of our website. Here you’ll find our successes in research, researchers’ stories from the pandemic and our research into risk factors: bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/our-research
