What is Gift Aid?

Modified on Tue, 22 Nov, 2022 at 2:18 PM

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers.

This means that for every £1 donated to us, we can claim back 25p meaning we receive a total of £1.25, at no extra cost to you.

In order for us to claim Gift Aid on any donations you make, we will need a valid declaration from you. We can then claim Gift Aid on any donations made in the last 4 years, and on all future donations.

Providing us with a declaration confirms that you are a UK taxpayer and that your charitable donations to us do not exceed the amount of tax you have paid during the tax year.

If you pay less income tax and/or capital gains tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
